Holiday Gift Guide by Toronto’s NOW Magazine.

I’m loving this guide because it really hits all budgets, from under $50 to over $500, and covers a wide variety of fun items — including gadgets, garments and the best part, some thoughtful green gift ideas, suggested by fellow fierce Toronto green girl, Ecoholic’s Adria Vasil

An optimistic article from USA Today.

On a design high

Yes, I’m way overdue for a post on this beloved site of mine. I’ve been a busy Green Design Girl and I have so much to share in the coming days. Everything from new product reviews, to great IIDEX/NeoCon finds, to my thoughts on the much anticipated BBC/Philippe Starck reality show [one word for now: fabuleux!]… and a whopping load of info on the upcoming World Without Oil Symposium and Toronto International Design Festival and the Interior Design Show, for which I attended the media launch last night.

I am incredibly inspired today by the successful launch and the amazing conversations that I had with members of the Toronto design scene, not to mention having had the opportunity to meet and speak with one of my design idols, Marcel Wanders of Droog and Moooi fame. A definite highlight of 2009 for me.

So thanx for sticking around, loyal readers + design aficionados. Tons of green design goodness coming soon!

Bobo Wing Chair with Reclaimed Tarp
Thanx to designsketchpad for turning me on to Bobo, an Atlanta-based company with a variety of furniture pieces made using reclaimed objects. They’ve given a new twist to several classics, including the Bobo Wing Chair, made with vintage tarp from South American trucks. Also amongst their reclaimed offerings is the clever Pigeon Basket Coffee Table, literally meshing the rustic with the modern.
If you’re a fan of classic, vintage and eclectic pieces in soothing neutral palettes, Bobo is worth a look.
