Hayaku: A Time Lapse Journey Through Japan by Brad Kremer
This stunning video includes views of Tokyo, Matsuyama, Imabari, Nagano, Gifu and Ishizushisan. The combination of these visuals with music by Röyksopp and The Album Leaf is simply breathtaking. I felt transported back to a land that holds a small piece of my heart, and from time to time, appears in my design work.
Creatively, Japan has so much to draw upon. From the glorious ancient architecture to the incredibly ultra modern; the beauty of the geishas to the sweetness of the kokeshi; the subtle elegance of the cherry blossoms to the bold edge of Harajuku. Of course, there are also the many rituals, festivals, traditional crafts, food, cinema, kabuki theatre, design shops, fashion, night life, technology and plenty more. Hai, design lover-san! Inspiration abounds in the land of Ando.
