Your Love Is Like Petrol by Client [Auto-Auto Remix]
Client and Depeche Mode have been my soundtrack today. I’ve been a fan of Client’s London ladies since their early myspace days in ‘05, when I ordered their first EP and they surprised me by adding an awesome t-shirt, posters and a bunch of little Client goodies — all packaged themselves and accompanied by a handwritten letter. Very DIY.
They’ve gone through quite a few member changes, and they’re no longer on Andy Fletcher’s [of Depeche Mode] record label, but they’ve moved on to Metropolis and their founding members, “Clients A + B” [the original flight attendant fetishists], are still on board. I remember jumping off the sofa last year, when I heard Your Love Is Like Petrol on the final season of The L Word. The show’s soundtrack features the original version.
