Blush Pillow by Imelda Gozali for Inhabit @ Design Public.
I’ve been impressed by Inhabit’s modern range of eco.friendly accessories for a while, having featured their sleek bamboo-made Wall Flats on Green Design Girl before.
These contemporary yet cozy pillows caught my eye, though it should be noted that not all of Inhabit’s pillows are on the green side [I’m always sniffing out the green creds carefully and I encourage you to do the same – if the labels don’t say much, always ask!].
The Inhabit pillows I’m posting here have a wonderful retrosuede finish to their covers and have a feather/down insert. They are made from 100% recycled polyester and while that may not beat organic cotton, hemp or bamboo fabric, I’m giving them eco.props for fully recycling and making good use of that poly.
To up their eco.points, Inhabit has these pillows hand printed in the U.S. using eco.friendly inks “with no chemical waste or disposal generated” and these soft beauties are fully recyclable at the end of their life-cycle. Modern, fun and eco.chic — that definitely qualifies as GDG-approved around here.
:edit: It was great to hear from Singapore-based Imelda Gozali after featuring her Blush, Dew and Flown pillows here on GDG. Apart from being a talented designer, she’s got a fantastic design blog called Imedagoze which I highly recommend.

Dew Pillow by Imelda Gozali for Inhabit @ Design Public.
Each of their pillows is two-sided, making them doubly versatile — and double the fun!

Flown Pillow by Imelda Gozali for Inhabit @ Design Public.
Gozali has a great eye for pairing fun colours. The fact that they’ve used such different yet complementary prints on either side makes it easy for you to change the look of your room in the blink of an eye.

River Rock Pillow by Jennifer + Mike Tuttle for Inhabit @ Design Public.
I love the bold and graphic nature of these prints, which still manage to evoke a warm and earthy feeling of nature.

Wall Flats by Inhabit @ Design Public in Braille pattern.
I love these dynamic embossed wall flats by Inhabit. Designed to expand in any direction, these versatile panels can be used to help disguise a wall that’s seen better days, or simply to revive the look of a room by giving it a fresh and modern dimension.
In addition to looking fabulous, they score major eco points by being made from recycled bamboo paper pulp [is there anything they can’t make out of bamboo?].
If you like an edgy, unfinished look, you can leave the flats as is. However, they are perfectly suited for painting if you want to add even more drama. Just be sure to maintain that eco credibility by using VOC-free paints.

Wall Flats by Inhabit @ Design Public in Shangri La pattern.
This one’s great for you retro design lovers. I personally wouldn’t paint it. Just look at how successfully it makes the smooth, bold chairs pop against that crisp white, textured finish. I love the contrast and its playful feel. I can definitely envision this pattern in a child’s room or a retro kitchen, perhaps using the panels on just one accent wall as the focal point.

Wall Flats by Inhabit @ Design Public in Industry pattern.
This one is quite modern and gives an industrial feel, while still maintaining a lightness with its soft edges. If you’re looking to add some real depth to a room, Industry would be the perfect choice. Note how they’ve paired this rather industrial, futuristic wall treatment with some classic mid.century pieces. The tension between the two styles really works in this case.
