Max McMurdo is the clever and talented Product Designer behind reestore, a U.K. based company that specializes in my 3 favourite R’s: Reduce, Refurbish, Recycle [yeah, so I got creative on the 2nd R, but I love refurbishing!]. Using as many eco design principles as possible, reestore seeks out all kinds of discarded everyday items that might otherwise be headed to the nearest landfill. Annie the shopping cart chair, is produced in a variety of colours and upholstered fabrics, though my personal pick is the black one above.  It’s got a great mid.century vibe about it. Bertoia’s Diamond Chair meets Breuer’s Wassily Chair perhaps?

Silvana by Max McMurdo at reestore. Have you guessed what Max has rescued and reused this time? It’s a washing machine drum! They’ve added a frosted glass top to the stainless steel base and inserted lighting within, casting several beams of warm light throughout the room. According to their site, Silvana is reestore’s most popular product.  I can easily see why, with its clean-lined aesthetic fitting into a variety of design schemes.
