Furrow Parkade by Propellor Design.
If you’ve been following GDG for the last couple of weeks, you know how I feel about our good old reliable and versatile friend bamboo. Combine that with my love for modern design and you’ll understand my lust for these bamboo plywood [“plyboo”] lighting fixtures by Vancouver’s Propellor Design.
These people have really perfected the art of merging modern design with organic materials. The Parkade Furrow’s plyboo shade is finished with a natural walnut oil. Its electrical components are recycled and are recommended for use with a CFL [compact fluorescent light bulb].

The mini Furrow? I love it. Whether it’s grouped to form a chandelier, or used solo, or perhaps in a single row? All configurations would make a great impact in a variety of settings. I’d love to see them casting a warm glow in a modern or retro dining room.

A close up showing the various shades of the natural bamboo. It’s a perfect material for playing with light and adding dimensions.
